ATAP Membership

Affirmed Members

Membership within ATAP is for those who are self-employed as an independent proprietor or a principal of a corporation they own. The majority of practitioners who apply for membership will be in this category.

Affirmed Members must be self-employed for a minimum of one (1) year as either a tax, accounting or other financial services professional. Affirmed Members are those who have passed the affirmation exam and have received voting rights at the Association of Tax & Accounting Professionals Annual General Meeting(s).

Individuals holding a Public Accounting Licence are not eligible for membership. 

Affiliated Members ** Updated**

We welcome the following individuals to our association as Affiliated Members:

  1. Soon-to-be Affirmed Members just getting started with ATAP – those who have not yet completed the qualifying exam and/or have not yet been self-employed for a year.
  2. Retired Affirmed Members who continue to want to stay connected to our community for its benefits
  3. Individuals who, as part of our professional network, are otherwise engaged in related commercial enterprises related to accounting, bookkeeping, income tax and/or business advisory whose work adds value to our practices as well as to our clients
  4. CPAs are eligible for Affiliated (non-voting) membership only. This membership category recognizes the valuable support that CPAs provide to ATAP, as well as to its members and their clients.
  5. Students who, under a special resolution of the board, are granted affiliated membership while they complete the conditions of that approval.

Until the end of October, Affirmed members may enroll their Employees at a special annual membership fee of $25 (for the current year ending May 31, 2023).  That means that your employees can join us for all the upcoming events including, seminars, webinars and socials as well as take advantage of the other membership benefits available.
